Rita A. ''Bunny'' Santarelli, 86, Enjoyed Pinochle and Bridge

She was born February 6, 1919 in Cleveland. She lived there until moving to Lorain in 1948.

She was a graduate of Saint Joseph Academy, Cleveland in 1937. Then received her Registered Nursing Degree from Saint John Hospital School of Nursing, Cleveland, three years later.

Mrs. Santarelli retired from Labor and Delivery in Saint Joseph Hospital, Lorain. Prior to that she worked in Cleveland at Saint John Hospital. She was a precinct worker.

She was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Lorain. She was a Past State President and Member of Lady's Auxiliary of Italian American Veterans Post 1, Lorain. She also was a member Lakeland Women's Club and the Lorain County Democrat Women's Club. She enjoyed pinochle and bridge, and was an avid reader.

Among the survivors are her husband of 57 years Carmine Richard Santarelli, daughters Kathleen Santarelli of Sheffield Lake and Ann Marie Kretovics of Sheffield Village and five Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Irene (nee Hammer) Hoffman and her son David Carmine Santarelli in 1977.

Friends may call Friday, October 21, 2005, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio, where the funeral service will be Saturday Morning at 10:00 AM. Reverend Joseph West O. F. M. Conv., Pastor of Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
