Oreste P. Sciulli, 80, WWII Veteran
Oreste P. Sciulli, 80 of Lorain, died suddenly on Saturday, October 29,2005 at his home.
He was born December 24, 1924 in Lorain and was a lifelong residence.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines having served as a Sergeant during
WWII. He worked as a laborer for Local 758 for 35 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of Catholic Church of St. Peter, Lorain. He was an avid
gardener and a history buff. He enjoyed reading and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Julia (nee Fernandez) Sciulli; daughter, Lydia
Scappucci of Avon; sons, Dino Sciulli of Medina and David Sciulli of
College Station, TX , 5 Grandchildren; sisters, Gilda DeFilippo of
Lorain, and Lenore Sciulli of Lorain.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Donato and Antoinette (nee
Silvestre) Sciulli, and brothers, Henry, Ernest, Raymond, Daniel and Adam
Sciulli; and, sister, Frances Scardami.
Friends may call Sunday, October 30, 2005 from 4-7 pm at the
Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio.
Prayers will be offered at the Funeral Home on Monday, October 31 at 12:30
pm and a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 pm at the Catholic Church of St.
Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Reverend Charles Henkle, OFM Conv.,
Associate Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary
Cemetery.
