Clinton "Dough" Gunter, 70, Enjoyed Making People Laugh

Photo of Clinton Clinton "Dough" Gunter, 70, of Vermilion, died Friday, November 18, 2005 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.

He was born April 1, 1935 in Crossville, TN, lived in Vermilion for 13 years moving from Elyria.

He worked as a maintenance man in Elyria for Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority retiring in 1985. He enjoyed flee markets, woodworking and making people laugh.

Survivors include his wife, Jean (nee Krebs); sons, Billie Gunter of Vermilion, Chuck Gunter of Harpers Ferry, WV, Steve Gunter of Travis Air Force Base, CA and Scott Gunter of Lorain; daughters, Denyse Hildebrandt of Amherst, and Michelle Schmalz of Vermilion; 19 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; brothers, Kenny Gunter of Crossville, TN and Elmer Gunter of New London; and a sister, Bennie Nell Sherrill of Avon.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Dewey and Effie Lee (nee Moles) Gunter; brothers, Eugene and Edgar and sisters, Barbara Lou Davenport and Alma Lee Mullinax .

Friends may call Sunday, November 20, 2005 4-7 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Monday, November 21, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Jim Shaffer, associate pastor of the Church of God, Elyria, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
