Donna Mae Mittler, 62, Homemaker
Donna Mae Mittler (nee: Zelina), 62 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness.She was born May 27, 1940 in Lorain where she was raised and graduated from Lorain High School with the class of 1957. Amherst has been her home since 1963.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain. She loved baking, reading, playing the organ, crocheting, and had a special love for her pet dogs.
Survivors include her husband of forty-eight years, Ronald E. Mittler; her son John R. Mittler of Amherst; her daughters Nancy M. Lowther and Leesa J. Mittler, both of Amherst, Denise A. Martincin of Vermilion, and Paula J. Mittler of Lorain; eight grandchildren; her brother Richard Zelina of Fallston, Maryland; and her sisters Darlene Zelina of Lakewood and Sylvia Johnston of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her parents Steve and Jessie Zelina.
Friends may call Sunday, November 27, 2005, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Fr. Chuck Henkle, associate pastor of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
