Catherine M. Stefanik, 88, Member of Holy Trinity Altar & Rosary Society

Catherine M. Stefanik, (nee Parajka), age 88, of Lorain, died Friday, November 25, 2005 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Stefanik was born April 6, 1917 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Lorain for most of her life.

She was formerly employed by the Worthington Golf Ball Company of Elyria. Catherine was an active parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain where she was also a member of the church’s Altar & Rosary Society. She traveled extensively and had made a trip to Hawaii as well as several trips to Canada. Additional interests included crocheting, flower gardening, and cooking.

Survivors include her sons Paul Stefanik of Amherst and Joseph Stefanik of Oviedo, Florida, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years Joseph in 2001, by her parents John and Helen (nee Radachosky) Parajka, by a sister Frances Brestovansky, and twin brother in infancy.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 29, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway – Lorain, where a rosary will be recited by officers and members of the Holy Trinity Altar & Rosary at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church – 2428 Elyria Avenue – Lorain. The Reverend David A. Novak, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery – Lorain.
