Juana Hernandez, 80, Owned & Operated Hit De Oro Restaurant in Lorain

Photo of Juana Hernandez Juana Hernandez, 80, of Lorain, died Monday November 28, 2005 at University Hospital in Cleveland after a sudden illness.

She was born January 27, 1925 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico and had resided in Lorain since 1959 moving from Puerto Rico.

Along with her late husband Jacinto Torres, she owned and operated Hit De Oro Restaurant in Lorain and later worked at various greenhouses until retiring.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain and enjoyed attending church, cooking, traveling, crocheting, spending time with her family and listening to music.

She is survived by her daughters: Maria Vazquez of Lorain, Teresa Senquez of Orlando, Florida, Antonia Torres of Lorain and Eva Torres of Lorain, sons: Emilio Torres of Brooklyn, New York, Pedro Torres of Puerto Rico and Frederico Torres of Lorain, 24 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Jacinto Torres in 1994, daughter Margarita Torres in 1949, parents Benicio & Feliciana Hernandez (nee Munoz) and 11 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 30, 2005 2-4, 7-9 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Thursday at 8:45 AM followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
