Marilyn Hawkins, 74, Enjoyed crafts and traveling

Born in Santa Monica, California on January 5, 1931, she had lived in Calpine, India and Santa Maria, California, before moving to Vermilion two months ago. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Soroptimist Club of California. She enjoyed cards, crafts, making greeting cards, playing games and traveling.

Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Richard D. Hawkins; daughters Leslye Beria of Athens, Tenn., and Lori Adams of Vermilion; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; stepsons Mark Hawkins of Kansas City, Mo., and Craig Hawkins of Seattle; and a brother, Terry Laughlin of Los Angeles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carleton and Marion Esther (nee Schleede) Laughlin.

Friends may call 4 p.m. Friday, Decemdber 2, 2005 until a 5 p.m. service at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St., Vermilion. Her son-in-law Bert Beria will officiate.
