George "Pudge" "Pa" Palmer, 77, World War II US Navy Veteran

He was born January 12, 1928 in Pennsylvania and resided in Lorain after World War II.
George served in the US Navy during World War II and saw action in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
He worked as a welder at US Steel in Lorain retiring in 1986.
George was a member of Delaware Avenue United Methodist Church in Lorain and VFW Post #451 of Lorain. He enjoyed bingo, Las Vegas nites, fishing and panning for gold.
He is survived by his son George Palmer III of Lorain, daughters Georgette Palmer Lukens of Lorain, Tina G. Dorsey of Amherst, Karen M. Falbo of Lorain and Patricia J. Fetter of LaGrange, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and stepbrothers Oshi Thompson of California and Eddie Thompson. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen J. Ma Palmer (nee McKee) in 2002, parents George & Pearl Parmer (nee Nicodemus), brothers Ray Parmer and John Parmer and sisters Ethel Martincak, Thelma and Helen.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 4, 2005 from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where services will be Monday at 11:00 AM. The Rev. John Ferris, pastor of Delaware Avenue United Methodist Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
