Nicholas Koscho, Jr., 58, Dental Technician, Vietnam War Veteran

Nicholas Koscho, Jr., 58, of Lorain, died Thursday December 1, 2005 at his home of natural causes.

He was born December 13, 1946 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Nick was a graduate of Admiral King High School in Lorain and then served with the US Navy as a medic during the Vietnam War participating in the siege at Khe Sanh. He received the Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Nick attended Triton College in River Oaks, Illinois and the Illinois Dental Laboratory Association.

Nick worked as a Dental Technician affiliated with the office of Mark Marshall DDS in Lorain.

He was a member of AMVETS Post # 22 in Vermilion since 1976. He was an avid golfer and bowler who devoted his life to family and friends. He lived his life quietly and with dignity.

He is survived by his sisters Rachel Lane of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Leah Koscho of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas Koscho, Sr. in 2002 and Margaret Koscho (nee Simko) in 2004.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 4, 2005 from 2:00 PM until time of funeral services at 5:00 PM at Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Mr. William Schill will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20 of Lorain. Cremation will follow.
