Edna Hardwick, 83, Homemaker

Edna Hardwick (nee: Randolph), 83 years of age, and a resident of Birmingham, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2005 at her home following a nine-year illness.

She was born March 10, 1922 in Casey County, Kentucky. She was raised in Somerset, Kentucky and has lived most of her adult life in Birmingham.

Edna was a homemaker. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Amherst. Edna loved quilting, being around people, and having her grandchildren and great grandchildren around her. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends.

Survivors include her sons Ray Hardwick of Oberlin, Arnold Hardwick of Wellington, and Lloyd Hardwick of Wakeman; her daughter Mrs. Paul (Linda) Clark of Birmingham; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; her brother Elbert Randolph of Wellington; and her sister Sylvia Mitchell of Somerset, Kentucky and Lois Smith of Amherst.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Hardwick on July 22, 2001; by her two sons, an infant son and Joe Hardwick; by her parents Herschel and Lilly Pearl Randolph (nee: Holt); by her brothers Curby Randolph, Charles Randoplh, and Curtis Randolph; and by her sister Alta Vaughn.

Friends may call Tuesday, December 13, 2005, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at 1 p.m. from Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church; 9457 Baumhart Rd., Amherst. The Rev. Harold C. Taylor, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Camden Cemetery, Kipton.
