Thelma E. Morrow, 77, Cook

Thelma E. Morrow (nee: Keith), 77 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Monday, December 12, 2005 at her home.

She was born June 19, 1928 in Kidder Kentucky where she was raised until moving to South Amherst in 1951. She had made her home in Amherst for the last thirty-two years.

Thelma was employed as a cook at Amherst Manor Nursing Home for twenty-nine years before retiring in 1993. She was a member of Old Fashioned Grace Baptist Church in South Amherst. Thelma enjoyed attending church, country music, traveling with the Coachman U.S.A. Seniors Group, boating and being outdoors. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, cooking and working with her hands.

Survivors include her sons James D. Morrow of Crestwood, Kentucky, Ted Morrow of Amherst; her daughters Ruby Winchel of Amherst, Peg Finley of Lorain, Jennifer Page of Warsaw; her brothers Thurman Keith of Sullivan, Ohio, Lowell Keith of Mitchell, Indiana, Arnold Keith of Lexington, Kentucky; her sister Marie Rogers of Bronston, Kentucky; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-three years Luther M. Morrow on September 22, 1990; her grandson Timothy Morrow in 1967; her brother Johnnie Keith in 1998; her sister Desda Gray in 1976 and by her parents Travis and Bertha Keith (nee: Flynn).

Friends may call Wednesday, December 14, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Farrell Keith will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
