Marvin Paul Hasel, 73, Served in the United States Air Force During the Korean War

He was born March 16, 1932 in Luckey, Ohio and had lived in Vermilion for 10 years moving from Lorain.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951-1955.
He retired in July 1993 after 26 years as the Electrical Inspector for the City of Lorain. He had also worked for Ohio Edison 9 years.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Lorain Lions Club, and a former member of the Local Carpenters Union.
He enjoyed enjoyed camping, bowling, playing cards, golf, bocci ball and tinkering.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Ann (nee Diederich); daughter, Vicky Elek, Sarasota, FL; sons, Mark Hasel, Amherst, Doug Hasel, Lorain and Ken Hasel, Vermilion; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Wolff, Green Township and 2 brothers, Winston Hasel of Berea and Franklin Hasel of Valley City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Martha (nee Miller) Hasel and a sister, Charla May Fackler.
Friends may call Tuesday, Dec. 27 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Deacon Ralph Krupp will officiate.
