Francisco L. Torres, 86, Enjoyed Gardening and Playing Dominoes

Francisco L. Torres, 86, of Lorain died Saturday, December 24, 2005 in his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born December 24, 1919 in Lares, Puerto Rico. He moved to Lorain in 1960.

Mr. Torres retired in 1989 from the maintenance department of Lake Terminal Railroad, Lorain. He worked there for 29 years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, He was also a member of the United Steel workers Union Local 1104 of Lorain. He enjoyed gardening and playing dominoes.

Among the survivors are his wife of 62 years Teresa Torres (nee Martinez); sons Juan and Wilfredo Torres both of Lorain, Joseph Torres of Cleveland; daughters Carmen Rivera of Amherst, Bienvenida Santiago and Frances Torres both of Lorain, Elizabeth Quinones of Olmsted Falls and Nilda Rau of Deerfield Michigan; 33 Grandchildren, 54 Great-Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Juan N. Luciano and Maria E. Torres; son Oscar Torres; daughters Minerva and Nereida Torres and a sister Juana Luciano.

Friends may call Tuesday, December 27, 2005, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio.

Funeral services will be Wednesday with closing prayers at the funeral home at 8:45 AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, South Lorain. Reverend, Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
