Ruth A. Lucey, 81, Devoted Homemaker

Ruth A. Lucey, age 81, of Lorain, died Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Community Health Partners in Lorain.

She was born on November 2, 1924 in Lorain and has been a lifelong resident.

A devoted homemaker, she had at one time worked for the Lorain Garment Factory as a seamstress and was a secretary at the Lorain Brass Company. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and a lifetime associate member of the I.A.V Club in Lorain. She enjoyed cooking, baking, dining out, traveling, casinos and playing bingo.

She is survived by her son, Martin Lucey of Sheffield Lake; 2 grandchildren, David Lucey of Avon Lake and Beth Mehal of Lorain; great-granddaughter, Madison Mehal.

She was preceded-in-death by her husband, Harold A. Lucey in 1998, parents, Gust and Agnes (nee Nowicki) Schrenkel and a brother, Wallace Schrenkel.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2005 from 4-7 pm at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30am on Friday, December 30, 2005 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 West 15th Street, Lorain. The Reverend Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will officate.

Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
