Edward Robert Buckholz, 76, Electrician

Edward Robert Buckholz, 76, of Vermilion, died Thursday, January 6, 2006 at his home after a 5 year illness.

He was born April 7, 1929 in Elyria, lived in Lorain most of his life until moving to Vermilion 12 years ago.

He worked as an electrician for U.S. Steel (USX) Lorain for 35 years. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, yard work, bowling, fishing, hunting and going to breakfast club for retirees.

Survivors include his wife, Madeline (nee Spartano) Buckholz of Vermilion; daughters, Deborah Nighswander of Warren and Jean Kelsey of Wellington; son, James Buckholz of Burnsville, MN; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, Henry Buckholz of Greenville, and a step daughter, Patricia Kernighan of Amherst.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry and Vitta Mae (nee Plumb) Buckholz. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Buckholz in 1975 and a sister, Maxine Baxter.

Private graveside services will be held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park. Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, will handle arrangements.
