Mary ''Ruth'' Lowis, 92, Beautician

She was born February 22, 1913 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was raised in Indiana and Michigan. Elyria was her home for over thirty years prior to moving to Oberlin fourteen years ago.

Ruth was self-employed as a beautician and a member of Church of the Open Door in Elyria.

Survivors include her son Gerald A. Lowis of Elyria; two grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years Francis John Lowis in 1975; by her parents Claude and Minnie L. Sinclair (nee: Eatmon); by her brother Arnold Sinclair; and by her sisters Auleva Thomas and Ruby Snyder.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. form the Chapel at Brookdale Cemetery; 41600 Oberlin Road, Elyria. The Rev. Michael Sikora, her grandson will officiate.
