Mary L. Kapanke, 83, Talented Cake Decorator

Mrs. Kapanke was born in Lorain, OH on June 9, 1922 and was a lifelong resident. She was a 1940 graduate of Lorain High School. She was a longtime member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church where she had served on the Alter Guild and was a member of the Owls.
Mrs. Kapanke retired in 1987 from Centurytel Telephone Company as a phone room supervisor. She was a talented cake decorator and especially enjoyed making wedding cakes. She also enjoyed coin collecting.
She is survived by her husband Herbert L. Kapanke to whom she was married on September 17, 1941. Also surviving are daughter: Laurene A. Cyran of Lorain, OH and a son Keith H. Kapanke of Lorain, OH, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a nephew who she cared for as a child Jerome Pasti of Avon .
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Mary (Zoldas) Pasti and two brothers Rudolph and Otto Pasti.
Funeral Services at First Evangelical Lutheran Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Ave., Lorain, OH, at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 23rd, with Rev. Jimmy Madsen & Rev. Dr. L. H. Chamberlain co-pastors officiating.
Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery Amherst Township, OH.
