David B. Epstein, 59, Eppy's Furniture Lorain Owner
David B. Epstein, 59 of Lorain passed away on Friday, January 20, 2006 at New Life Hospice at St. Joseph in Lorain.Mr. Epstein was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 20, 1946 but lived in the Lorain area since adolescence. He graduate from Lorain High School in 1965. He was a US Army veteran serving from 1969-1972 stationed in Germany. He then received a degree from Becker College, Worchester, MA in 1973.
He was a member of Agudath B'Nai Israel Synagogue in Lorain. He served as president of the Synagogue from 1992-1995 and was the business manager for the Community News.
He owned and operator of Eppy's Furniture Lorain after taking over the business from his father in 1974. He retired in 1996.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years Nancy L. (nee Donerkiel) Epstein, stepdaughter Sarah Haas of Cleveland, stepsons Jeffrey and David Haas both of Burlington, VT, and a sister Carol Dressner of Cleveland, Oh.
He was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Jean (nee Davis) Epstein.
Funeral Services at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, at 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2006 with Rabbi Yossi Marazov officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery Sheffield Township, OH. The family will set Shivah on Sunday evening from 7:30 p.m. at the residence.
