Helen B. Smith, 69, Enjoyed Cooking and Gardening

Photo of Helen B. Smith Helen B. Smith (nee Farley), 69 of Vermilion, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at her home after a two year illness with cancer.

She was born March 17, 1936 in Sandyhook, Kentucky. She has been a Vermilion resident for the past 46 years moving from South Amherst.

She attended the Church On The North Coast, Lorain where she was involved with the senior citizens group. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, working in her flower beds, and helping underprivileged children.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Chester E. Smith, 2 sons: David W. Smith, and Chester E. Smith Jr. both of Vermilion; daughter, Rebecca S. Crabtree of Vermilion; 4 grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Janet Bolyard of Vermilion, and Bonnie Bahl of Boca Raton, FL.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Elbert Farley and Irene Farley Resko (nee Brown) and her step-father Steve Resko.

Friends may call Friday, January 27, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Norman R. Beetler, Buses International, officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
