Paul Robert Kovach, 80, Electrician

Photo of Paul Robert Kovach Paul Robert Kovach, Jr., 80 of Florence Township, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 12, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio and has been a Florence resident for the past 65 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany from 1950 to 1952.

He worked as an electrician for 9 years for General Motors, Elyria and for Ford Motor Company, Lorain for 28 year retiring in 1988.

He was a member of the Crossroads Christian Center, Oberlin, Gibson Masonic Lodge, Wakeman; Grand Council Royal and Select Masons of Ohio "Past Illustrious Masters"; the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio where he was past High Priest, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rites of Cleveland, Vermilion Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7576, UAW Local 425 and the Cloud Climbers RC Club. He also enjoyed helping his brother on the homestead dairy farm and farming with his son.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Anna Marie (nee Maszton) Kovach; 2 sons: Bob and his wife Marian Kovach and Frank Kovach all of Florence; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and brother, Frank Kovach of Florence.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Paul Sr. and Helen (nee Kovacs) Kovach, and twin grandchildren Joshua Paul and Joseph Robert Kovach in 1975.

Friends may call Friday, January 27, 2006 from 2-4 and 6:30-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio where the Gibson Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic Service and Vermilon Veteran Council will conduct a Veteran service at 6:30 p.m.

Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Santo Davila, pastor of Crossroads Christian Center, officiating. Interment will follow in Florence Township Cemetery.
