Helen H. Farley, 88, Former Puritan Mining Company Manager

Helen H. Farley (nee Hunt), age 88, of Lorain, died Friday February 3rd, 2006 at the New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph following an extended illness.

Mrs. Farley was born October 17, 1917 in Pike County, Kentucky and had been a resident of Lorain County since 1960.

Helen was formerly employed as the manager of two company stores operated by the Puritan Mining Company of West Virginia. She was later employed as a sales associate for the J.C. Penney Company in Williamson, West Virginia prior to moving to Ohio.

She was currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Sheffield Lake, Ohio.

Survivors include her son Larry Farley of Lorain, grandson David Farley, granddaughter Lisa Ehman, and great grandson Nikolas Ehman.. She was preceded in death by her husband Malcom in 1981, by her parents Tilden and Eliza (nee Blackburn) Hunt, along with two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be Monday, February 6, 2006,from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue – Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Boyd D. Lacy, pastor of First Baptist Church of Sheffield Lake officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, Ohio.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
