Kathleen L. Norberg, 82, Enjoyed Growing African Violets
Kathleen L. Norberg, (nee Francis) age 82, of Lorain, died Saturday February 4, 2006 in the emergency room of Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center.Mrs. Norberg was born February 19, 1923 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city. She was a 1941 graduate of Lorain Saint Mary High School and went on to attend the Lorain Business College.
She was employed in the office of the Ecker-Radlow-DeSantis Company of Lorain; she retired from that position in 1971 following ten years of service with the company. She had previously been employed in the administrative office of the W.T. Grant store, which was formerly located in the Lorain Plaza Shopping Center.
A parishioner of the Catholic Church of Saint Peter, Kathleen enjoyed working with counted cross-stitch and raising African Violets.
She is survived by her husband of sixty years Robert, by a daughter Linda Norberg of North Olmsted, grandsons Matthew Norberg of Twinsburg and Daniel Norberg of Cleveland, great grandchildren Brennan Norberg and twins Carson and Madison Norberg, along with a brother Eugene Francis of Amherst. She was preceded in death by her son Donald in 2003, by her parents James and Elizabeth (nee O’Hern), by a sister Mary Cloughessy, and by brothers James and Robert.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 7, 2006, from 3 to 5 & 7 to 9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue Lorain. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Catholic Church of Saint Peter 3501 Oberlin Avenue Lorain. The Reverend Kenneth Wolnowski, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Lorain
