Thomas D. Groves, 65, Enjoyed Fishing and Political Discussions

Thomas D. Groves, 65 of Vermilion died early Monday morning, February 6, 2006, at his home unexpectedly.

Mr. Groves was born in Roanoke, WV on January 10, 1941. He has lived in the Amherst Vermilion areas for the last two years. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam era.

He was a retired private business consultant for industrial engineers. He held a BS in Physics and a BS in Industrial Engineering from the Western Kentucky University. He obtained a Masters Degree in business from the University of North Dakota at Crookston, MN in 2003.

He attended the Vermilion Evangelical Reform Church. He is a member of the Western Kentucky University Alumni Association. He enjoyed working in his yard and landscape, crossword puzzles, fishing and having political discussions.

He is survived by his sons; Brooks E. Groves of Yuma, AZ, Gus Schlueter of Floyds Knobs, IN, Jeffrey Scott Groves Ryan of Michigan, two granddaughters, his mother Norma E. (nee Wiley) Groves of Lorain and a brother Darrell Groves of Amherst.

He was preceded in death by his father Thomas E. Groves.

Graveside services at Weston Masonic Cemetery, Weston, WV, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2006. .
