Lena K. Dymiticuk, 93, Fisher Grocery Store Retiree

Lena K. Dymiticuk (nee Waszily), 93, of Lorain, died Monday, February 13, 2006 at her home.

She was born November 7, 1912 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Lena graduated from Lorain High School with the class of 1931 B. She worked in the produce department at Fisher Grocery Stores and Fazio Grocery Stores in the greater Lorain area for 28 years retiring in 1976.

Lena was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the church Marian Guild and Paduan Travelers. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, crocheting, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. For many years she worked the polls during elections.

She is survived by her daughters Doris Dymiticuk and Alice Simms, both of Lorain, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Dymiticuk in 1955, parents John & Julia Vaszily (a.k.a. Waszily) (nee Smith a.k.a. Kovacs), brother John Waszily in 2001 and sister Julia Karney in 2003.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 9, 2006 from 4-8 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the St. Anthony Marian Guild will pray the rosary Thursday at 4:30 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 AM in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Joseph West, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
