Evelyn E. Bias, 84, Enjoyed Quilting and Sewing

Photo of Evelyn E. Bias Evelyn E. Bias, age 84, of Vermilion, died Saturday, February 18, 2006 at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born on April 10, 1921 in W. Hamilin, WV. She has lived in Vermilion for the past 38 years, moving from W. Hamilin, WV.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Vermilion and enjoyed church activities, her hobbies that included quilting and sewing and she enjoying spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include daughers, Velma Woodall of Vermilion, Verna Taylor of Amherst, Wanda Pickett of Vermilion, Wilma "Kay" Ball of Vermilion, Norma Mankin of Vermilion, and Connie Taylor of Lorain; sons, Ronald "Ron" Bias of Vermilion, Donald "Don" Bias of Vermilion and Allen Bias of Collins, OH; 29 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Eva King of Huntington, WV, Hilda Holly of Huntington, WV and Freda Bledsoe of Barbersville, WV.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Albert Bias in 1988 and her parents, McCellan and Agnes (nee Porter) Bragg, brothers, Calvin and Odell Bragg, sister, Beulah Mannon and a grandson, Shane Mankin.

Friends may call Monday, February 20, 2006, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, where services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00pm. Nathan Porter and Greg Pennington, both great-grandsons, will officiate her service.

Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
