Allen Earl Kendeigh, 80, Road Superintendent
Allen Earl Kendeigh, 80 years of age, and a resident of Henrietta Township, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Community Health Partners H & S Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness.He was born May 7, 1925 in Oberlin where he was raised. He was a lifetime resident of the Oberlin and Henrietta Township area.
Allen was a road superintendent for the Lorain County Engineering Department for seventeen years. He also owned and operated a dairy farm and orchard. He was a member of the South Amherst First United Methodist Church and a Henrietta Township Trustee for twelve years.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years Dolores Ann Kendeigh (nee: Sapienza); his sons, Allen Earl Kendeigh, Jr. of Amherst, Robert Wayne Kendeigh of Henrietta Township, and Jeffrey Todd Kendeigh of Elyria; his daughters Charlene Marie Kellgren of Boardman, Ohio and Jennifer Ann Kendeigh of Toledo, Oregon; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and his sisters Sybil Knoble of Henrietta Township and Marjorie Wasem of Mason, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earl Samuel and Olive Maretta Kendeigh (nee: Bates); and by his sister Jane Cheverton.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 1, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, March 2, 2006 from 10-11 a.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Gary Lunsford, pastor of South Amherst First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
