Roy A. Kneisel, 84, of McKinney TX, formerly of Vermilion, died February 26, 2006 at Provident Living Center, McKinney, TX.Born March 6, 1921 in Vermilion, he had lived in Vermilion until 1998.
He retired from the Vermilion Post Office as a rural route postal carrier.
He graduated from Vermilion High School and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He was a private First Class with Company A Signal Air Warning Battalion.
He was a member of the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church. He was past treasurer of the Churchman’s Brotherhood and sang in the choir. He enjoyed photography, gardening, traveling and pets.
He is survived by his daughters: Roberts Bobbie Peeler, McKinney, TX and Nancy Tate, Vermilion; 2 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Kneisel, 1997, a sister Alta Foster Simmons in 1922 and his parents, Andrew G and Margaret (nee Walper) Kneisel.
Memorial services will be held March 11, 2006 at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, Allen, TX and March 19, 2006 at Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church, Ohio at Grand Streets, Vermilion at 12 Noon. The Reverend Bob Daugherty, pastor will officiate.
