Robert Watson Richards, 87, Enjoyed Traveling
Robert Watson Richards, 87, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, Mach 7, 2006 in Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.He was born September 21, 1918 in Hartville, Ohio and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 20 years.
He was a veteran of the Navy Air Corp. As a Lieutenant, he flew in the South Pacific during WWII.
Mr. Richards graduated from Case Western Reserve with a degree in business finance. He was vice president of Union Commerce Bank, Cleveland retiring in 1975 after 29 years of service.
He enjoyed traveling, jogging, reading, yard work and had participated on a bowling team.
Survivors include companion of 54 years, Albert R. Tyson of Vermilion, sister, Adalyn Molnar of Riverview, MI, 8 nieces, 4 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert Ray and Lorena Belle (nee Powell) Richards, and brothers Lynn, Paul and Ralph Richards.
Friends may call Thursday, March 9, 2006 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion.
Services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 12 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Holmer, pastor of ST. Mary Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
