Aaron Scott Bonzar, 33, Transportation Specialist
Aaron Scott Bonzar 33 of Lorain died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 in Community Health Partners Hospital, Lorain following a sudden illness.He was born November 11, 1972 in Lorain. He was a life long resident. He graduated from Admiral King High School in 1991 and attended Lorain Business College.
Mr. Bonzar was employed as a transportation specialist for Bay Mechanical & Electrical Co., Lorain. He was an active member of Saint Vincent De Paul Church, Elyria, where he participated with the youth retreat program. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 118, Amherst.
He enjoyed sports. His father coached him when he played Lorain youth baseball. He also played Lorain youth soccer. In junior high school he participated in soccer, track, football and basketball. While in high school he was on the basketball, football teams and ran long distance events for the track team.
He like his father loved guide youth; he coached his son's t-ball team and his daughter's youth soccer team. He organized traveling youth baseball teams. In 2005 he managed the American Legion Post 118, Amherst fourteen and under traveling baseball team to the Continental Amateur Baseball Association and the Great Lakes Baseball Association World Series Championship.
Among the survivors are his wife of Gloria Bonzar (nee Hernandez) of Lorain; sons Xavier Aaron and Michael Anthony Bonzar, daughter Brittany Anne Bonzar all at home; parents Daniel Lee and Nancy D. A. Bonzar of Lorain; brother Eric Jason Bonzar of Lorain and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his fraternal grand parents Robert L. and Anna Bonzar (nee Popovich).
Friends may call Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Reidy-Scanlan and Chambers Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be Monday, March 13, 2006, with closing prayers at 9:15 AM followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Vincent De Paul Church 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria. The reverend James Ols, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven memory Garden, Avon.
