Lidubina Salva, 78, Saint Joseph Hospital Retiree
Lidubina Salva (nee Lopez), age 78, of Lorain, died Friday March 17, 2006 at Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center after suffering an apparent heart attack on March 14th.Mrs. Salva was born April 6, 1927 in Puerto Rico and had been a resident of Lorain since 1970 after re-locating from New York City.
She was employed in the laundry service department at the former Saint Joseph Hospital retiring in 1989 following nineteen years of service with the health care provider.
She was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Chapel and also participated in the charismatic ministry there. In her free time she enjoyed walking and travel.
Lidubina is survived by a daughter Mrs. James (Helen) Goldyn of North Ridgeville, two grandchildren, and a brother Viincente Lopez of Puerto Rico.
She is also survived by nieces Margie Mattei of Lorain, Puri Purta of Grafton, Julie Sanchez of Lorain, Nancy Soto of Lorain, Bruni Surgett of New York, and nephew Ed Soto residing in Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jose in 1996, by her parents Enrique and Pura (nee Alberty) Lopez, sister Carmen Soto, and by brothers Francisco and Ramon Lopez.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 21, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday beginning at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel 4301 Pearl Avenue Lorain. The Reverend William A. Thaden, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Lorain.
