Agnes C. Pastor, 94, Charter Member of Saint Vincent de Paul Parish

Mrs. Pastor was born in Cambridge, Ohio on March 9, 1912 and had been a resident of Lorain County for most of her life.

She was a charter member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township and was also active with its Altar & Rosary Society. She was a former member of Saint Ann’s Auxiliary at Saint Ladislaus Catholic Church.

Mrs. Pastor was previously employed by the Worthington Golf Ball Factory in Elyria as well as the Elyria Lace Factory. She was most recently employed in the Saint Vincent de Paul Elementary School cafeteria and also as a cook for the Sisters of Saint Joseph Convent located at the parish.

Her hobbies included travel to Florida, bingo, walking, and all forms of card games. She also enjoyed singing, whistling, and dancing to polkas and obereks.

She is survived by daughters Lois Protz of Fairport, New York, Geri Pastor of Lorain, and Patricia Marcucci of Amherst, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis A. Pastor in 1976, son Louis R. pastor in 1988, father Julius Roback in 1965, mother Stella (Shesky) Roback in 1959, sisters Margaret Smith in 1958, and Victoria Strainic in 2002, and brothers John Roback in 1964, Michael Roback in 1979 and Peter Robuck in 1983.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 21, 2006, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue – Lorain where a rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. by officers and members of the Saint Vincent de Paul Altar & Rosary Society. Funeral services will be Wednesday beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church – 41295 North Ridge Road – Elyria Township. The Reverend James Ols, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery – Lorain.
