Edna Pearl Phillips, 90, Enjoyed Quilting
Edna Pearl Phillips (nee: Dunagan), 90 years of age and a resident of South Amherst, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Autumn Ageis Nursing Home in Lorain.She was born June 6, 1915 in Gregory, Kentucky. She has been a resident of South Amherst for fifty-six years coming from Monticello, Kentucky.
Edna was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, gardening, flower gardening, and watching Cleveland Indians’ baseball.
Survivors include her sons Waldo Phillips of South Amherst and Harmon Phillips of Wellington; her daughters Bonnie Strader of Elyria, Alma Hall of Lorain, and Wanda Jenny of Willard; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; her stepdaughter Lois Carrender of Monticello, Kentucky; and her sister Mae Henninger of Monticello, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-four years Theo C. Phillips in 1976; by her son Roger Phillips in 1997; by her twin daughters Dollie at birth and Dorothy in 1945; by her parents Dach and Nancy Ann Dunagun (nee: Powell); and by four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call Sunday, March 26, 2006, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 27, 2006 at 1 p.m. from the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
