Stanley J. Tokarz, 58, Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor
Stanley J. Tokarz, 58, of Oberlin, died Thursday March 23, 2006 at his home after a lengthy illness.He was born May 22, 1947 in Lorain and had resided in Oberlin for the past 3 years.
Stanley grew up in Lorain and attended Admiral King High School where he graduated in 1965. He attended Kent State University where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Business and then attended Ashland University where he earned his MBA.
Stanley worked at the Grafton Correctional Facility as a drug and alcohol abuse counselor for 8 years.
He was a member of the Olmsted Unitarian Universalist Church in North Olmsted and a past member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain.
Stanley enjoyed reading, computers and pets.
He is survived by his sister Pat Tokarz of Lorain, companion of 5 years Martha Marti Norris of Oberlin, stepdaughter Kelly McCullough of Lakewood and stepson Ryan McCullough of Toledo. He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Mary Tokarz (nee Hladek).
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 26, 2006, from 3-7 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at a time to be announced at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2428 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
