Delbert S. Gnagy, 55, Enjoyed Fishing
Delbert S. Gnagy, 55 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Brecksville VA Hospital following a brief illness.He was born December 12, 1950 in Amherst. Before retiring to Amherst, he had been a resident of Florida for twenty-eight years.
Delbert served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Conflict where he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal W/1, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal w/device, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was employed for many years as a commercial and home painter. He enjoyed fishing, painting, and cooking for family and friends.
Survivors include his mother Ruth B. Gnagy (nee: Sagert) of Amherst; his brothers Russell Gnagy of Lorain and Mike Gnagy of Clearwater, Florida; his sister Karen Wiegand of South Amherst and Kathy Terry of Vermilion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Samuel Delbert Gnagy in 1992.
Services were held privately by the family.
