Oscar J. Villa, 80, Inspector

Oscar J. Villa 80 of Lorain died Thursday, March 30, 2006 in Community Health Partners Hospital, Lorain following a lenghy illness.

He was born July 25, 1925 in Guadalahara, Mexico. He came to Lorain as an infant. He resided in Chattanooga, Tennessee for 21 years returning to Lorain in 2000.

Mr. Villa was an inspector for Thew Shovel Co., Lorain for 22 years until there closing. He also worked at National Tube Co., Lorain. He was also a self employed photographer.

He served in World War II in the Navy as a third class gunners mate in the pacific.

Mr. Villa was a member of Saint Vincent De Paul Church, Elyria. He had also been a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, and Saint Anthony of Padua Church both of Lorain and Saint Jude Church, Chattanooga. He had also been a Member of the Mexican American Citizens Club, Lorain where he served as the entertainment chairman for several years. He was a third degree knight in the Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed working on mechanical and electronic equiptment. He also enjoyed all types of music.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years Mary Villa (nee Martinez); a son John Villa of San Diego, California; daughters Juanita Gonzalez of San Diego, California and Christine Williams of Lorain; brothers Salvaor Villa of Arizona and Adam Villa of Lorain; and a sister Marian Munoz of Walnut Creek, California.

He was preceded in death by his parients Salvador and Anita (nee Pulido) Villa and a daughter Marian Villa.

Friends may call Saturday, April 1, 2006 from 11:00 AM until time of prayers at 2:00 PM. Funeral mass will follow in Saint Vincent De Paul Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria. th Revrend James Ols, pastor will officiate.
