Ann Surace, 83, X-Ray Technician

Ann Surace (nee Sinch) 83 of Lorain died Saturday, April 8, 2006 in her home following a lengthy illness.

He was born March 21, 1922 in Lorain. He was a life long resident. She graduated from Lorain High School, Lorain in 1940. She received her Nursing degree from Saint Joseph School of Practical Nursing, Lorain in 1967.

Mrs. Surace retired in 1987 as x-ray technician for Amherst Hospital, Amherst.

Mrs. Surace was a member of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Lorain. She was a member of the church's Altar and Rosary Society. She was dedicated to the church, cleaning and baking for bake sales.


Among the survivors are her sons Charles H. Surace of Lorain, Robert J. Surace of Hartford, Connecticut, and William B. Surace of Vermilion, Ohio; daughter Mary Ann Robles of Elyria; brother Steve Sinch of Vermilion; ten Grandchildren and six Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Louis Surace in January of this year; parents Harry and Mary (nee Szwani) Sinch; son David L Surace.

Friends may call Tuesday, April 11, 2006 4:00 to 8:00 PM in Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31 Street, South Lorain, where Saint John Altar and Rosary society will pray the rosary at 6:00 PM Tuesday evening in the funeral home.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 12, 2006 with closing prayers at the funeral home at 9:00 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Homewood Drive and Grove Avenue (Route 57), Lorain. The Reverend Father Thomas R. Smith Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain Ohio.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Saint John Endowment Fund, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain, Lorain, Ohio 44055.
