Maria Kurucz, 61

Mrs. Kurucz was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on September 12, 1944 and had been a resident of Elyria Township for more than twenty years coming from New York.

She was formerly a merchant and the proprietor of La Fe Music Store as well as the Las Palmeras Restaurant both of which were located on Pearl Avenue in South Lorain for a number of years.

A parishioner of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township, she was also a member of the South Lorain Merchant’s Association.

She is survived by her husband of twelve years Paul, daughter Maggie Cole of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, sons Andy Rivera and Luis Mitchell both of Tampa, Florida, seven grandchildren, and sister Iraida Lopez residing Puerto Rico.

She was preceded in death by her father Juan Mercado, and by her mother Magdalena Gonzales Mercado.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue – Lorain. Additional visitation will be observed on Friday in the Neill Funeral Home 3501 Derry Street – Harrisburg, Pennsylvania from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Ss. Margaret and Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg with burial immediately following in Holy Cross Cemetery.
