Brian Keith Kumpf, 35, Veteran of the U.S. Navy

He was born October 11, 1970 in Lorain, Ohio. He has been a Vermilion resident most of his life, moving to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1999.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during Desert Storm where he worked as a military police officer for 10 years, retiring in 1999. He also worked as worked as a Safety Engineer in the oil related industry.
He was a 1990 Vermilion High School graduate. He enjoyed spending all of his free time with his children.
He is survived by his daughters, Mikah Rae and Kaylie Nicole Kumpf of Corpus Christi, a son, Garrett Keith of Corpus Christi, TX, his parents, Edwin and Sharon (Russell) Kumpf of Vermilion, sister, Michelle Reid of St. Augustine, FL; 3 brothers, Thomas Kumpf of Vermilion, Michael Kumpf of Stow, Ohio and James Kumpf of Green Cove Springs, Fl; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a very good friend David Norton of Corpus Christi, TX.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Traci Jo Kumpf on Sept. 18, 2001; his paternal grandparents James and Bernice Kumpf, and maternal grandparents, William and Alice (nee Heattich) Russell.
"A memorial service was held at the Bible Believers Baptist Church. 1701 Rand Morgan St. Corpus Christi, TX on Saturday, April 29 at 11 am with the Pastor Bevans Welder, officiating.
Graveside service will be on Friday, July 14, 2006 at 11 am at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion, with funeral Celebrant Matthew Humphrey, officiating and the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to Northwest Little League Football or Northwest Little League Baseball or Northwest Little Miss Kickball, 3901 Hilltop Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78410.
