Nancy A. Dusho, 58, Saint Stanislaus School English Instructor

Nancy A. Dusho, (nee Strauser), age 58, of Lorain, died Tuesday April 25th at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Dusho was born in Lorain on March 24, 1948 and had been a life-long resident of the city. She was a 1966 graduate of Admiral King High School and went on to receive her teaching certificate from Saint John’s College in Cleveland. She had served as a Seventh and Eighth Grade English instructor at Saint Stanislaus Parish School from the time of her graduation from college until 1973. She later served as a substitute teacher at Saint Mary of the Lake Parochial School.

A parishioner of Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, Nancy was involved with the Amherst Athletic Booster Club and tirelessly followed the accomplishments of her sons throughout their years at Marion L. Steele High School.

She is survived by her husband of thirty-six years Dennis, by sons Brian of Boise, Idaho, Jason of Detroit, Michigan, and Jeremy of Lorain, her mother Evelyn (Stitak) Strauser of Lorain, grandson Aidan Dusho, and sister Mary Ann Bigrigg of Amherst.

She was preceded in death by her father Charles Strauser in 1990.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue – Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church – 2702 Elyria Avenue – Lorain. The Reverend Kevin C. Shemuga, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery – Lorain.
