Doris Jean Naylor , 64, Life Member & Past Officer of the Amherst Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1662 Ladies� Auxiliary
Doris Jean Naylor (nee: Potts), 64 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Monday, May 8, 2006 at her home following a lengthy illness.She was born July 10, 1941 in Milan, Ohio. Amherst has been her some since the 1950s.
Jean was employed as a nurse’s aid in the home health care field and was also an exercise instructor. She was a life member and past officer of the Amherst Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1662 Ladies’ Auxiliary. She enjoyed flower arranging, golfing, sewing, gardening, painting, fishing, and exercising.
Survivors include her husband of forty-five years Garrold Bud Keith Naylor; her son Thomas Naylor of Ocala, FL; her daughter Robin Toothman of Amherst; four grandchildren; her brother Charles Potts of South Amherst; and her sister Linda Bozman of New London.
She was preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Helen Potts (nee: Fennel); by her brother Richard Potts; and by her sister Barbara Healey.
Friends may call Thursday, May 11, 2006, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 12, 2006, at 10 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. James Peter, chaplain of New Life Hospice, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
