Anne M. Broglio , 86, Member of National Honor Society At Lorain High

Anne M. Broglio (nee DiLuciano), age 86, of Lorain, died Wednesday May 10, 2006 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following an illness of two years.

Anne was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on September 7, 1919 and had been a resident of Lorain since her childhood.

She was a 1936 graduate of Lorain High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society.

A long-time parishioner of the Catholic Church of Saint Peter, Mrs. Broglio’s hobbies included knitting and following televised soap operas. She also enjoyed reading with a special interest in paperback family saga novels. Anne was also regarded as an excellent cook whose specialties included homemade pasta and ravioli.

Survivors include daughters Anita Deering of Lorain, Paulette Kollar of Sullivan, and Jean Gardner of Newtown, Pennsylvania, three grandchildren, and a sister Yolanda “Londie” DeTillio of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years Nick Broglio in 1990, by her parents Vincent and Pauline (nee Leone) DiLuciano, by her brother Robert in 1986, and sister Marie Mitchell in 2002.

Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue – Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Catholic Church of Saint Peter – 3501 Oberlin Avenue – Lorain, with the Reverend Kenneth Wolnowski, pastor of the parish officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery – Lorain.
