Mary S. Naymik, 89, Enjoyed Cooking & Baking

She was born August 31, 1916 in Monesson, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain since 1927.

During World War II Mary worked at Jack & Heintz Co. in Bedford. She also worked at Western Automatic in Elyria for 10 years and at McDonald’s in Sheffield Township for 10 years.

For 10 years she served as a democratic precinct worker for the Lorain County Board of Elections.

Mary was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain and the church Ladies Guild and Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed cooking and baking.

She is survived by her son Myron Naymik of Lorain, daughters: Nadene Pajor of Amherst and Jolene Naymik of Summerfield, Florida, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and sisters Anna Navalinsky, Rose Pashkevich, Magdelene Holzhauer and Ethel Skiba, all of Lorain and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John J. Naymik on May 13, 2000, parents Michael and Rose Skiba (nee Kalfactor) and brother Paul Skiba.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 16, 2006 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Panachida services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the funeral chapel followed by the Divine Liturgy at 11:30 AM at St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th St., Lorain. The Rev. Nicholas Rachford, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
