Stella L. Krutkiewicz, 89, Enjoyed Baking and Sewing
Stella L. Krutkiewicz (nee Korab), age 89, of Lorain, died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following an extended illness.Mrs. Krutkiewicz was born in Elyria on June 26, 1919 and was raised in Poland. At the age of twenty-one, she returned to the United States and had been a long-time resident of Lorain.
A parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain, she was employed in cafeteria services at Admiral King High School for a number of years. She retired from the school district in 1979.
Her hobbies include baking, sewing and gardening.
Stella is survived by her daughter Irene Moore of Lorain, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brothers Walter Korab of Lorain, Stanley Korab residing in Poland and a sister, Genevieve Zrebiec also living in Poland.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dominic, by a son John, by a daughter Joan in infancy, and by her parents Frank and Felicia (nee Dziubel) Korab.
Friends may call Sunday, May 14, 2006, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Closing prayers will be offered Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Robert Glepko, Pastor of Nativity Parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
