Theresa S. Trebus, 79, Served Republic Steel & Lorain Board of Education

Theresa S. Trebus, (nee Kaminski), age 79, of Lorain, died Saturday May 13, 2006 at the Harborside Care Center in Westlake, Ohio following an illness of two months.

Mrs. Trebus was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 6, 1926 and had been a resident of Lorain since 1954.

Theresa attended Saint John Cantius Parochial School on Cleveland’s near west side and went on to graduate from Cleveland Lincoln High School. While residing in Cleveland she was employed as a countometer operator at Republic Steel Corporation for twenty-seven years. After moving to Lorain County she was employed by Bill and Don’s Restaurant & Catering, Burger Chef Restaurant, and Mr. Donut. She most recently served in the cafeteria services division of the Lorain Board of Education fulfilling responsibilities at Lorain High School for more than eleven years.

She was a parishioner of Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain. In her free time she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and was a regular viewer of the 7:00 p.m. Catholic Mass broadcast every weeknight on Direct T.V.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-one years John A. Trebus, daughter Mrs. Jim (Darlene) McLaughlin of Westlake, grandson Myles McLaughlin, and a brother Chester Kaminski residing in Rocky River, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Sophie (nee Dado) Kaminski, and by a brother Joseph.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 16, 2006, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue – Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday May 17th beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church – 2702 Elyria Avenue – Lorain. The Reverend Kevin C. Shemuga, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery – Lorain.
