Mae Pauline Capocasa , 90, Big Cleveland Indians Fan

Mae Pauline Capocasa (nee: Ortenzi), 90 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Friday, May 19, 2006 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a 3 � -year illness.

She was born July 31, 1915 in Royal, Pennsylvania. She was raised and lived in Lorain before moving to Amherst seventeen years ago.

In addition to being a homemaker, she worked for the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain, retiring in 1975. Mae was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. She loved to cook and was a big Cleveland Indians fan.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Diane Capocasa of Amherst; her daughter Amelia Hunady of Amherst; her grandchildren Mark Hunady and Terri Dindon; her great-grandchildren Edward Strauser and Jordan Capocasa; and her sister Marie Paul of Avon Lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years Cesare Capocasa in 1960l by her parents Angelo and Maria Ortenzi (nee: DeAlexandra); by her brothers Angelo Ortenzi, Sam Ortenzi, and Joseph Ortenzi; and by her sisters Annie Mantini, Olive Tocchi, and Laura Calabrese.

Friends may call Monday, May 22, 2006, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Closing prayers will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church; 200 St. Joseph Dr., Amherst. The Rev. Fr. Lawrence Martello, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to CHP Regional Foundation/ New Life Hospice; 3700 Kolbe Rd., Lorain, OH 44053.
