Carolyn Faye Neely , 51
Carolyn Faye Neely (nee: West), 51 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2006, at her home following a sudden illness.She was born October, 20, 1954 in Oneida, Tennessee where she was raised. She moved to South Amherst in 1960 and has been a resident of Amherst since 1988.
In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed at York International in Elyria for five years as an assembler. She loved antiques, nature, gardening, flowers, fishing, and researching family genealogy.
Survivors include her husband of eighteen years, Kenneth Neely; her son Wayne Neely of Amherst; her daughters Buffy Lukochko of Wellington and Emily Neely of Tacoma, Washington; six grandchildren; her brother Jerry W. West of Salt Lake City, Utah; her sisters Nora Kerns of Horner, West Virginia, Ruby Hall of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Nancy Godsey of Nova, Ohio, Margie Ussery of Lanett, Alabama, and Ethel Burch of Greenwood, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Anna Mae West (nee: Pennington); and by her brother Henry West.
Friends may call Tuesday, May 23, 2006, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, May 24, 2006, from 10-11 a.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at 11 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Harold Taylor, pastor of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
