Irma Ann Lesnak, 89, Active In Local Slovenian Fraternal Lodge

Photo of Irma Ann Lesnak Irma Ann Lesnak, (nee Campana), age 89, of Lorain, died Sunday May 28, 2006 at the New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph following a sudden illness.

Mrs. Lesnak was born March 4, 1917 in Lorain. A life-long resident of the city, she graduated from Lorain High School

She was a parishioner of the Catholic Church of Saint Peter in Lorain and was formerly employed by Neisner Brothers, Inc. and the Weitz Garment Company both of Lorain.

Irma was also a member of the Buckeye Lodge # 60 of the Slovenian Mutual Benefit Society as well as Ss. Cyril & Methodius Lodge # 101 of the Slovenian Catholic Union.

In her free time she enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She was also an avid sports fan.

Nieces and nephews survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Lesnak in 1983, by a daughter Arleen Lesnak in 2002, by her father Anthony Campana in 1922, mother Giovanina “Jennie” Campana-Leone (nee Dulio) in 1972, brother Loredo Campana in 1996 and by sisters Della Erdy- Knapp in 1996 and Pauline Jacovetti in 1981.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue – Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Catholic Church of Saint Peter – 3501 Oberlin Avenue – Lorain. The Reverend Kenneth Wolnowski, Pastor of Saint Peter Parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery – Lorain.
