Charles "Chuck" D. Bevan, 77, Lorain High School Graduate of 1946
Charles "Chuck" D. Bevan, 77 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Community Health Partners, H. and S. Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.He was born November 10, 1928 in Lorain. He was raised in Lorain and graduated from Lorain High School in the class of 1946. He made his home in Amherst for over 20 years, coming from Lorain.
He had been employed by the Lorain City Engineer’s Department for a number of years. He had also been on the Lorain Fire Department. He worked in sales for Proctor and Gamble Company and had worked for U.S. Steel and Invacare in this area. He had enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church, Amherst.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Janet R. Bevan (nee: Brown); his son Craig D. Bevan of Elyria; his daughters Karen R. Carothers of Florida and Jill Simonovich of Amherst; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and 2 sisters Dionne Thiery of Brownhelm Twp. and Judy Phillips of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Dorothy (nee: Smith) Bevan.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at 6 p.m., in Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 46485 Middle Ridge Road, Amherst, with the Rev. Arnie Fleagle of Trinity Evangelical Free Church, officiating. Burial will be private in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
