Harold Pugh, 71, Lorain Ford Retiree
Harold Pugh, age 71, of Lorain, died Monday June 19, 2006 at his residence following a brief illness.Mr. Pugh was born in Pike County, Kentucky on March 27, 1935 and had been a resident of Lorain since 1959 coming from Kentucky.
Harold served as a member of the United States Army attached to the supply services brigade during the Korean Conflict.
He was employed in the paint department at Ford Motor Company’s Lorain Assembly Plant; he retired in 1994 following a career that had spanned thirty-five years with the automaker.
He enjoyed animals and especially liked taking care of his three dogs and two parrots.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years Pauline (nee Stump), sons Howard of Fremont, and James of Lorain, daughters Barbara Hanna of Amherst and Ada Weitzel of Halton City, Texas, thirteen grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and his sister Patsy residing in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Effie (nee Abshire) Pugh, by brother Carl, and by sisters Essie Pugh, Ruby Moore, and Myrtle Varney.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Randall Sias, Pastor of the Church of Lorain Gospel Mission officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Amherst Township.
