Robert R. Likovetz, 85, Honorary Life Member & Trustee of Knights of Columbus

Robert R. Likovetz, 85, of Lorain, died Monday, June 19, 2006 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home in Amherst.

He was born December 17, 1920 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Mr. Likovetz worked at US Steel in Lorain as a roller in the #4 Blooming Mill for over 40 years retiring in 1982.

He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and was an honorary life member and trustee of Knights of Columbus Council #637 in Lorain. He was a member of the Polish Fisherman’s Club and the Cleveland Chapter of the Society of Air Racing Historian.

Mr. Likovetz enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing.

He is survived by his daughter Marilyn Burns of Woodstock, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife Florence Likovetz (nee Potocki) on September 15, 2004, brother Charles Angeloff and sister Wilma Angeloff.

The family will receive friends Thursday 7-9 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 AM in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Robert Glepko, pastor, and the Rev. Robert Dybo, deacon, will concelebrate. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
